Bio-based propylene glycol is produced from renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils or glycerol. It is chemically identical to conventional MPG and suitable as a direct drop-in replacement without reformulation.
Propylene glycol is a colourless, nearly odourless, hygroscopic liquid. It is fully miscible with water, ethanol and many organic solvents. Approved as food additive E1520.

What is bio-based propylene glycol made from?
From renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils or glycerine. Bio-MPG is chemically identical to conventional 1,2-propylene glycol and replaces it without reformulation.
Is bio-MPG suitable for food and pharma?
Propylene glycol is approved as food additive E1520. USP/EP grade is available on request – please tell us your application and the required monograph.
Is bio-MPG suitable for coolants and heat transfer fluids?
Yes. Propylene glycol is a standard raw material for antifreeze and heat transfer fluids. The bio-based version performs identically and lowers the fossil feedstock share of your product.
In which packaging do you supply bio-MPG?
In tank containers (20,000–24,000 kg), IBCs (1,000 kg) and drums (200 kg) – from Hamburg throughout Europe, with TDS, safety data sheet and CoA.
