Bio-based propylene glycol is produced from renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils or glycerol. It is chemically identical to conventional MPG and suitable as a direct drop-in replacement without reformulation.
Propylene glycol is a colourless, nearly odourless, hygroscopic liquid. It is fully miscible with water, ethanol and many organic solvents. Approved as food additive E1520.
