Acetone is produced via the mass balance approach (ISCC PLUS): a certified share of renewable feedstock is used in production and allocated to the end product by book-and-claim accounting. The result is chemically identical to petrochemical acetone – a drop-in product with a reduced carbon footprint, with no reformulation required.
Acetone is the simplest ketone – a colourless, readily volatile, flammable liquid with a characteristic odour. It is fully miscible with water and most organic solvents.

What does “CO₂-reduced via mass balance” mean for acetone?
A certified share of renewable feedstock is used in production and allocated to the acetone by ISCC PLUS mass balance accounting. The acetone itself is chemically identical to fossil material – the difference lies in the reduced carbon footprint of the allocated volume.
Do I need to change my formulation?
No. The acetone has the same specification as conventional material and is used 1:1 – in coatings, adhesives, cleaners or synthesis. We are happy to provide a sample for your internal approval.
In which packaging do you supply acetone?
In tank containers (20,000–24,000 kg), IBCs (1,000 kg) and drums (200 kg) – from Hamburg throughout Europe.
Which documents do I receive?
Every delivery comes with a technical data sheet, safety data sheet (DE/EN) and certificate of analysis (CoA).
